MSc in Epidemiology at the LSHTM
Dr. Modou Jobe is currently a Senior Specialist Registrar in Cardiology at the CHU Aristide Le Dantec pursuing a Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées (DES) de Cardiologie at Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal. He holds a medical degree (MB ChB) from the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of The Gambia.
He joins the MRC ING as a Wellcome Trust Masters Fellow in Public Health and Tropical Medicine and will soon undertake a full-time MSc in Epidemiology at the LSHTM.
His research interest focuses on cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention and will investigate as part of his MSc project, the role of metabolic endotoxaemia as a mediator of insulin resistance and diabetes in obese urban women as well as to evaluate if this point towards novel preventative and/or therapeutic strategies.
